Game of Thrones season 4 , 15 minute preview !!!

'Game of Thrones': The 15-minute season 4 preview is here
Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing aired tonight on HBO, treating fans to an in-depth look at the upcoming drama in season 4.

Though the premiere of Game of Thrones season 4 is still several months away, HBO is sparing no effort in making sure that the fanbase is good and ready for the upcoming season.

To that end, the network aired a 15-minute promotional featurette tonight titled Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing. The new video is the longest look at Game of Thrones season 4 that has been released so far, going behind the scenes of the series and offering an in-depth glimpse at the exciting – and potentially heartbreaking – events in the medieval fantasy series.

Season 4: A Foreshadowing [view]
In addition to new footage and clips from the elaborate production process, Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing featured many members of the cast answering questions from fans. New characters – such as the fiery Oberyn Martell, Prince of Dorne – were introduced, and the 15-minute video also made no secret of the hardships that lie in wait for many beloved characters in Game of Thrones season 4.

Game of Thrones is, of course, based on the bestselling fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The show’s fourth season will represent the first that the television adaptation will break away from the one-book-per-season model it has generally followed until now.

Game of Thrones season 4 will largely cover the second half of A Storm of Swords, which offers no shortage of material, especially in the politically-charged setting of King’s Landing. Elements of the fourth and fifth books (A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons) may also be incorporated into Game of Thrones season 4.

For a further look at what your favorite (and least-favorite) characters will be up to, check out the beautiful new stills and the heart-pounding trailer recently released for Game of Thrones season 4.

Game of Thrones season 4 will premiere in its established slot on April 6, at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.

Game of Thrones author George R.R.Martin reveals what the Iron Throne should REALLY look like !

George R.R. Martin has revealed how he envisions the Iron Throne when writing A Song of Ice and Fire – and it’s nothing like the Game of Thrones version
The Iron Throne is the most iconic prop from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, and yet in a new log post, George R.R. Martin sets the record straight about what it’s actually supposed to look like.

“This Iron Throne is scary. And not at all a comfortable seat, just as Aegon intended,” he writes.

In Game of Thrones, the throne is gargantuan and very solid, and made from pointed swords that look like they’ve been melted together, just like it’s described in the book series.

“It’s a terrific design, and it has served the show very well,” Martin writes in his blog post. “I love it. I have all those replicas right here, sitting on my shelves.”
However, he goes on to say that, “it’s still not right. It’s not the Iron Throne I want my readers to see. [...] My throne is a hunched beast looming over the throne room, ugly and assymetric [sic].”
Luckily, even TV show fans can now find out exactly how the “real” Iron Throne looks.
The talented illustrator Marc Simonetti (whose art is featured in the 2013 A Song of Ice and Fire calendar) paints a version which matches Martin’s description, and which the author himself now says will be the reference he gives future illustrators:

They then charge upstairs to find skitters in the common area, led by Red Eye. Bressler's ready to shoot when Ben pops out from among the rebels. ASHLEY BANJO IN STOCKTON TEESSIDE "THE TOWN THAT DANCED AGAIN " FOR SKY 1

4/25/2013

PictureAshley Banjo , leader of Diversity
Ashley Banjo steps up to face his biggest ever challenge as he attempts to get the whole town of Stockton-On-Tees , Teesside on its feet and dancing in the streets once more . In his most ambitious dance project to date, Ashley Banjo, with the help of Diversity, will hit the town of Stockton-on-Tees this summer, to persuade the people of this market town in the North-East of England to join him in a street dance extravaganza, which he hopes will bring the whole community together.

Michel Kirland, Head of Factual Entertainment, Sky said: “I am thrilled to be working with Ashley again on such an ambitious project. Ashley is hugely talented and it’s his passion and commitment to street dance that we think will encourage the whole of Stockton-On-Tees to dance in the streets”.

www.stocktonteesside.co.uk

Stockton-on-Tees has a proud dance heritage. Through the war years and right up until the 1960s, the North East’s thriving market town boasted an impressive three dance halls, more than average for a town of its size. From the jitterbug and the jive to the shuffle and swing, each weekend the halls and clubs reverberated to the sound of music and laughter as the community danced its cares away. But in the 1970s the dance halls began to close, and it seemed that Stockton had forgotten how to dance.

In recent times Stockton like much of the North East of England and Teesside in particularly has and is going through a period of economic depression .

Despite this Stockton has a proud heritage and was instrumental in Britains Industrial Revolution .

`In 1822, Stockton witnessed an event which changed the face of the world forever and heralded the dawn of a new era in trade, industry and travel. The first rail of George Stephenson's Stockton and Darlington Railway was laid near St. John's crossing on Bridge Road. Hauled by Locomotion No 1, the great engineer himself manned the engine on its first journey in 1825. Fellow engineer and friend, Timothy Hackworth acted as guard. This was the world's first passenger railway, connecting Stockton with Shildon. The opening of the railway greatly boosted Stockton, making it easier to bring coal to the factories; however the port declined as business had moved down river to Middlesbrough`

`Stockton witnessed another discovery in 1827. Local chemist John Walker invented the friction match in his shop at 59 High Street. `
Ashley Banjo commented: “I have always believed that street dance is for everyone, whether you are part of a crew or going solo. This is the biggest challenge I have ever taken on, let’s hope I can give Stockton-on-Tees their dancing spirit back.”

Now Ashley plans to change all that – he aims to create a dazzling street-dance showcase that will reinvigorate the town, create a new community spirit and get thousands of people dancing in celebration. He’ll start by bringing together people who have similar jobs but who have never met. From shop assistants and market traders, teachers and librarians, to council staff and care workers, Ashley will unite the town’s workers by choreographing a series of individual street dance routines.

Then, for one day only, Stockton’s high street, the widest in Britain, will be transformed into the UK’s largest open air venue as Ashley and his workers bring the routines together. He’ll lead the whole town in an unforgettable, show-stopping street-dance finale.

Tim Whitwell Head of Programmes, added: “This is going to be an inspirational and entertaining series, with Ashley creating an unprecedented street dance spectacle. There will be heart-warming stories, personal transformations and surprises galore, as well as some aesome choreography. It willbe a unique TV event.”

AMAZON TO showcase pilot tv comedy

4/21/2013

Picture
14 pilot shows - including Alpha House and Zombieland - are to be put to the public vote on Lovefilm and Amazon.com.

Viewers can submit feedback influencing which shows get made into full series.
The fourteen shows are made by independent companies and produced by Amazon Studios, the film and series production arm of Amazon.
"This is the first time Amazon Studios has done this," said Simon Morris, Lovefilm's chief officer.
Eight adult comedies and six children's animation series will be put to the public
The shows will be aired on Amazon's pay subscription services - Amazon Prime in the US, and Lovefilm in the UK - but Mr .Morris said they would be available to everyone and not just subscribers.

The adult pilot shows include Alpha House, about 4 senators who live together in a rented house in Washington DC and stars John Goodman, who starred recently in Oscar-winning film Argo.

"Bill Murray has got a cameo in Alpha House, looking a bit older, a little bit more bedraggled, but definitely Bill Murray," Mr Morris added.

Onion News Empire is set behind the scenes of the Onion News Network, a satirical daily news service, and "shows just how far journalists will go to stay at the top of their game", according to Amazon Studios.

It stars Arrested Development's Jeffrey Tambor as the "egomaniacal lead anchor".

Other pilot shows include Zombieland - based on the film of the same name - featuring four survivors attempting to outwit zombies, while cartoon comedy Dark Minions, written by Big Bang Theory's Kevin Sussman, is about two "slackers" working on an intergalactic warship.
The children's shows include animations Sara Solves It, where Sara and Sam solve maths-based mysteries, and Creative Galaxy, an interactive art adventure series.

Picture
"This isn't X Factor for some new titles where you get to vote and they're fairly gimmicky," Mr Morris said. "It has a unique position in the world in that it has a platform that's a pay platform, it has an entertainment platform."

He said that the "world of digital has been growing, driven in large part by the BBC iPlayer, from about 2008" and that he saw this move as the next stage.

"Mass-market digital consumption and streaming have come of age in the last few years," he added.

'Promotional tool' But Toby Syfret, TV analyst for Enders Analysis, was sceptical about the venture, describing it as a "gimmick" and said he did not think it would make much of a dent in the TV landscape.

"I think the success of this will have a huge amount to do with the publicity they can get for it."

Kevin Spacey's House of Cards was made and broadcast on Netflix Amazon and Lovefilm were able to put pilots to the public vote because "they are not TV channels with set budgets", he said, adding that "you cannot sustain a programming operation if you let viewers decide - you're losing control of the purse strings".

He also queried whether programme-makers would want the public vote to potentially leave them "committed to the most expensive thing which is least good".

"Programme makers may end up saying 'we'll go with it, but it's a bit expensive so we'll cut the budget' - and then you've done what the public's asked but it's been slashed by half," he added.

" Amazon's thinking that Netflix has done it this way [by broadcasting Kevin Spacey's House of Cards drama series] so we'll come at it from another way."

Earlier this year, the streaming TV and movie service Netflix made and broadcast House of Cards, and revealed plans to make at least 5 new shows a year.
YouTube, owned by Google, also recently launched its original channels initiative with 20 new channels coming from the UK.
Mr Morris said that the key thing that marked his venture out was that "the platform is open".
"Not everyone has the opportunity to go and pitch an idea to HBO in New York, not everyone can get on a plane to Cannes and pitch a script," he said.

"But there is now a vehicle whereby people are in a place that independent writers - whether they've got a track record or not - can put content through and it can be evaluated and brought to market. And that's the exciting thing about this."

Game of thrones pirates breaks bit torrent download records

With a million downloads on BitTorrent in less than a day, the season premiere of Game of Thrones is breaking records on multiple fronts. Never before has there been a torrent with so many people sharing a file at the same time, more than 160,000 simultaneous peers. Data gathered by TorrentFreak further shows that Australia has the highest piracy rate of the popular download destinations, while London tops the list of pirate cities.

As expected, the new season premiere of Game of Thrones has generated quite a bit of activity on various BitTorrent sites.

Hundreds and thousands of downloaders went out to grab a copy of the show, breaking the record for the largest BitTorrent swarm ever in the process.

A few hours after the first torrent of the show was uploaded the OpenBitTorrent tracker reported that 163,088 people where sharing one single torrent. 110,303 were sharing a complete copy of that particular torrent while 52,786 were still downloading.

These are mind boggling numbers that we’ve never seen before.

Previously the record for the largest BitTorrent swarm belonged to the season premiere of the TV-show “Heroes” with 144,663 peers.

Counting all the different releases it’s estimated that the latest Game of Thrones episode has been downloaded over a million times already. Considering the above there is little doubt that Game of Thrones will once again be crowned the most downloaded TV-show of the year.
